No offense taken, I know its a far fetched idea, but given this is exactly what happen with IronClad for Wii VC, its within the range of possibility, if Cave decides to do quick XBLA ports through emulation.

All I know is, people don't dump XBLA games because there's nothing to run them on. Pretty much everything for the Wii can be though, from VC to WiiWare, and the Wii emulator is so well done it exceeds PS2 emulation.

Or you could just get a 360, hook it up to your cab and play it like that like a bunch of goons here did.

I can see why people would feel let down of ESPRaDe became the last port, but still makes me sad to see so much hate for it :( Aside from the obligatory DFK disc, I'd love to see MMP on XBLA. I only got to play it briefly when Casino had it in, but even still it got me far more interested in it than Pink Sweets. As stated, Pink Sweets is crazy hard, and requires a lot of rank manipulation which is really not how I like to play things. I'd still buy it though, natch ;)

This actually isn't true.  Pretty much all XBLA games have been dumped.  You can run them on a JTAGed 360 (basically a 360 moded to remove all the security).  There are even PC apps that can decrypt the packages so you can inspect/rip the files contained in the packages.  The most obvious use for this is to rip the music from games.

Pink Sweets with an IKD arrange mode would be killer. PS has the best bullet patterns of any Cave game (by far),  Some of the best
I'm not a huge fan of PS but i second that and DFK have great waves of bullets too!

I think there is a strategy to how Cave is releasing games.

Release a popular game:Futari
Then release a less popular game: Espgaluda 2
Release a popular game: Deathsmiles 2
Release a less popular game: Pork/Pink

now, if Cave are smart, they should release their next port very soon after Deathsmiles 2.  We all know Deathsmiles 2 is going to be a big seller for Cave...maybe even bigger than the first one.  They should take advantage of that and release their next port quickly to ride on the success of Deathsmiles 2.

Whether the next port is Pork or Pink, they should do some significant marketing and try target the same folks who are buying Deathsmiles.  Knowing the cast of characters in both Muchi Muchi Pork and Pink Sweets, that shouldn't be too hard to do.  If they can manage to do that successfully, I think they can make either game sell reasonably well...even if they didn't have that much success in the arcades...

brentsg

Well Pink would benefit most from some arrange modes but MMP is one of Cave's most fun titles imo.  Either would be great for fans, and both will probably be sales disappointments.

I will be interested to see how DFK sells.

bucklemyshoe

Anything after DFK is a bonus.

I have a feeling we'll eventually get both Pork & Pink. (I'd prefer Muchi Muchi first! ...but)

Maybe down the line, after all the older titles are released on XBLA we'll get a disc compilation of them all.

Actually, Im getting really curious now to see the new cat-girl game.
I love cats and girls, this cannot go wrong.  =D

Dont remember if they have announced if it is a shooter or hori/vert...prolly is in 3D like DS2?

Then that 10,000 investment I made in the Campaign Version board would go to waste.

If it is a 100% emulation solution, there is MAME, etc.  A rom is a rom is a rom, regardless of how they store/distribute it.  It is not out of the realm of possilibility.

Now you're the high one.

Quote from: bcass on March 12, 2010, 06:19:29 AMEitherway, I reckon this new direction has happened because of dwindling sales of each retail release.
note that the original Jewelry Master was a freeware game in the first place, and that it supposedly didn't do well enough to become commercial

bcass

What has that got to do with what you quoted?  What you quoted was in relation to Caves retail releases, not Arika's Jewelry Master.

I'm still waiting for news on the 'Steem' ports...

^^This you have a hard time believing, but someone in the west owning a DDP Campaign board is feasible to you? You must be a pro. A pro nutter.

purpbullets

Jockel

At least the price of supposedly 10.000 yen should have raised an eyebrow.

I didn't ban him. Anyone can manually delete their own account here via the user cp. That's what purpbullets chose to do.
