They reveal in the PV that the booklet that comes with the game has expanded from 48 to 64 pages.

A report from a Japanese player at the Hey location test is that the slowdown is goofy (extra slowdown added, other slowdown is erratic, etc).  :displeased:

He says the last time they showed the port it felt "just right", but this time it felt all messed up.

The Futari ports' slowdown is also quite goofy (I really need to revise that port accuracy list!), by the way. (In some ways it is worse than Cave's own ports.) I hope Ketsui's can be fixed before release, but Futari's was never fixed so I have little hope.

I may just stick with the X360 port as it's pretty good and I don't even really like Ketsui.  :laugh:

That's strange. Surely a bug they can put right before release if they had it right before. Good job they loke tested it.

Of note, they reproduced the display flicker when the sprites overload, though you can turn this off in "Custom" mode, if you like. Ikeda asked them to get rid of it entirely, but they settled on this compromise.

That's cool. I remember hearing people complaining about the PGM sprite flicker on the ESPGALUDA PCB after playing the PS2 port (that doesn't have it) and I never understood why they didn't like it. Pushing hardware until it starts to sweat is sexy and one of the reasons CAVE games are so satisfying, IMHO.

I just played a credit of the port and poked around in the different modes. First impressions:

-Arcade mode at dot-by-dot with smoothing OFF and scanlines at 25% looks incredible. Very similar to my PCBs through an OSSC.
-Game speed and slowdown really do feel just like the PCB. It is shockingly accurate.
-This is a MUCH better port than anything on the X360.
-X360 and PS3 ports of Ketsui can be thrown in the dumpster now (though keep them if you like the arrange mode, as it's not in this version AFAIK)
-Really looking forward to the ESP.Ra.De port now.
-If M2 could port Ibara + Kuro like this I would sell my PCBs so fast.

Only downside is the loads in between menus/modes seem to take a bit too long, and the initial load when you start it up is at least a minute or two.

In my first credit I no-missed to the Stage 4 boss and ended my game in Stage 5 with 65 million. I am a bit rusty.

So a couple of things..

First off, I was able to source the BEEP version to the USA without a middleman.  It was dicey and the communication sucked.  I thought I wasn't getting anything, and I could not get a response from them.  After a brief reacharound from Gaijanpunch to ask AmazonPay to refund my money, it magically showed up at my house.  Also got the Amazon version..

Haven't really put any time into it at this point, and no longer own a PCB to compare to.  No idea why I sold that, still have almost everything.

I read somewhere that there might have been doing a soundtrack CD as a bonus item, but I can't find anything to substantiate.  I can't emphasize how badly I don't need another Cave OST, but curious.

Also, I really wanted one of those joysticks from the Matsuri but wasn't able to make it happen.  Need to get a stick for the PS4.

New patch today, updating the game to Ver 1.01:

Changes include increasing the battle history/play time counter above 100 hours, and a tweak for a custom mode option. Also various other minor tweaks/bug-fixes.

With the PS5 released this week, players in Japan have been enjoying the Ketsui PS4 port on it. Be warned that if you don't set the output resolution to 1080p, there is significant input lag and screen tearing:

Anyone know if all the Shottriggers work?

I think I'll get a PS5 when GT7 comes out but I'll need to go through the BC list before selling the PS4 as I have loads of shmup/arcade downloads on there.
