thanks for the tip gus. never saw that on there before. that was probably one of the ones they were asked to remove when it was still .co.uk

edit. im a dope. the youtube vid and the superplay vid are the same. swy has 87mil at the end of the final boss fight. the endgame bonus puts him at the counterstop. why is the scoreboard in that game not in standard numeric values? so annoying.

Has this been posted before:  http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm18781091

Looks like a new form of the SDOJ TLB.

That's Yusemi-SWY's Youtube channel?  :o

Anyway, there's a counterstop replay by him on super-play.info.

Google Translate seems to indicate that it's not his. I don't know why his channel would be in Korean anyway.  :P

This dude has uploaded like one zillion of shmups superplay:

Me playing Pink Sweets 1.01, for anybody that's interested in some Kasumi play:
marus-MPO - 8,813,330 - Stage 6 - Kasumi(A)

I missed the fixed extend in Stage 3, then had some ridiculous deaths at the midboss, but aside from that this was a pretty good and fun run.  I still obviously have a lot of work to do in stage 6 though.

Soooo many crazy things happened in the last six years, we've got to catch up !
Starting with the infamous Donpachi counterstop

Except it's a cheated TAS run. Actual Donpachi chaining is still unavailable and a complete mystery.

Didn't you get a WR score with one of the ships recently? What part is still a mystery?

It's still a mystery since hardly anything is publically available.

The best replay with type A isn't even 40mil, while the WR is over 90mil these days.
The Armchair General has posted a superb 60mil replay, which is by far the best publically available replay we have. Type B chaining is kinda similar to type A, so you can learn some type A strategies from this replay as well.
Type C chaining is radically different to A and B. Nothing is available.

Resources are very scarce for Donpachi. Six years were not enough.

I had to go back and see which ship you used for your 66mil WR and it was Type C. So I see now why a lot of the chaining with A and B types is still a mystery.

My type C replay is not publically available though and I wasn't referring to myself. I am in close contact with all WR holders and share with them, so I know all the strategies with the other ships as well. Yet, that doesn't change the awful resource situation for the general public.

Darn, I had no idea (as he lost a life in the last level)
Is there some impossible strategies in this run ? Or are most of the chaining doable by a human ?

The video is worthless in terms of strategy for the vast majority of chains. It's a typical TAS that cannot be replicated. The actual WR replay looks very, very different.

EOJ

There's a new replay on the DDPDFK Ver 1.51 leaderboards by SYU, uploaded March 20, 2018, that is a counterstop (9999999999 -- I forget how many 9s). He doesn't get the clear, but it is a very impressive run that made me have a little more respect for, and interest in, that mode. Getting a counterstop with a clear is no easy feat. I wonder if he'll keep playing for that or just be content with the counterstop.

I was wondering if someone archives those replays on the leaderboards. They surely won't be on there forever...

EOJ

Yeah, I wish I had equipment to record them. Maybe someone else can help out there.

The guy plays it like a Yagawa game. Strategic deaths, bombs, etc. Really interesting to watch. I wonder if Yagawa programmed that one.

So if you release your replay, do they murder you? I don't really care one way or the other, I just find the whole "Cult of Donpachi" bizarre.

Here's an incredible 999 million Espgaluda 2 video (Ageha), by YOZ:

https://www.bilibili.com/video/av26340961

Of note, he gets over 70 million on stage 1 (I always thought this was possible, but this is the first time I've seen it), fights Shin Seseri (as expected, you must fight her to get the top scores in this game), and no misses the entire game. His recent WR is 39 million more than this, so I wonder where all those extra points come from. After watching this, it's hard to see where more points could be squeezed out.

Here is an interesting video of the Steam version of Deathsmiles MBL:

https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm28688522

It shows the Ice Palace stage completed in 3 minutes and 37 seconds faster than in the Xbox 360 version (which itself is a bit faster than the PCB). I did not know the Steam version was so bad, it looks like it is running with a fast-forward button on the whole time. Did they ever fix this with a patch or is it still like this?

Also, here's a nice video showing the differences in slowdown at rank 999 on the Lakeside stage with Windia (arcade PCB on the left, X360's Arcade mode on the right):

SDOJ 3.59 trillion with B-EX by KL:

Quite a nice video! He does not do the overflow pattern on Stage 3 (costing him over 1 trillion), and does not fight Hibachi, but other than that it's great stuff. If you want to see the ST3 overflow pattern for B-EX, the top replay on the X360 arcade leaderboards shows how to do it.

I don't have a youtube or similar online video to share, but I just checked out the Pink Sweets X360 leaderboard rankings, and there are two awesome videos there for download that were uploaded this year. One is a 15.3 million ALL with Lace in Ver 1.00, the highest score in a non-infinite lives run ever made public! And the second is a 6.52 million run in Score attack with Lace by the same guy. Also an ALL, and also the highest scoring run ever made public in that mode.  :righton:

I watched both videos. The 15.3 mil run is very interesting! He loses his medal chain once, at the snake lasers in St6. He gets three destructible-bullet extends (one in the beginning of st4, another in the beginning of st6, and the last in the beginning of st7), and three fixed extends (st3, st5, st7). He loses his first life on the St4 boss. Four more lives are lost in St6 (two on the snake lasers, one on the boss, and I forget the other one). He dies twice in St7 (once on the midboss) and ends the game with one spare life in stock.

It seems this player is Plasmo? The score is the same as the high score shown at the top of the screen in this video by Plasmo:

https://twitter.com/Plasmo_STG/status/1187092298703822848

A bit confusing because I can't find a site where he has posted this score, and his restartsyndrome high score list only shows his previous 14 mill (no 1CC) score:

https://www.restartsyndrome.com/user.php?user=119

He also does not list the score on the Shmups forum thread that he administers (here: https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=54091).
