Woah, is that box legit?  I've never seen one without any print on the top.  Same seller also has a Dangun Feveron available.

Very minty Ibara Kuro kit starting at 400,000 yen:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/o401779194

Box is one of those without the CAVE/AMI stamp (apparently, though rare, these are original) and it comes with a cool, unused Ibara Kuro sticker which is not official (it is listed in the auction as 'homemade').

Almost had him this evening!

Looks like you need to be in powerup mode to do any real damage!

Bomb spam and recharge with your familiars. I love this game!

Well, FWIW I know the seller has had it for several years or more, so it's not one that's been on YAJ in recent memory. You could also try messaging the buyer, who posted in that thread.  ;)

It's certainly plausible that some AK PCBs were converted to SDOJ. Maybe a lot (100?). Although the original run was clearly 300 PCBs based on the serial number data, the game was a huge flop in the arcades, and when they were making SDOJ they were low on parts, so repurposing unsold AK PCBs would have made sense, and would have been in line with CAVE's previous practices in similar situations.

One factor that speaks against this theory (at least on a large scale) is I haven't seen a SDOJ PCB with an AK date stamp on the back. And remember, many AK PCBs were converted from DFK (based on date stamps!). So if they were originally AK PCBs we would have to posit they removed all the date stamps and placed new ones on, and we don't have any evidence that they did this prior, except perhaps for MFBL AV (and even that is far from proven).

Ultimately, tracking the serials of the few AK PCBs that show up for sale every year is not going to provide any answer to the question in our lifetimes (but maybe our grandchildren will finally know the truth!!). It could be that a lot of people are just keeping the PCB and not selling it.

Tracking serial numbers to try and estimate how many are still out there.  I believe a significant number of Akai PCBs were converted to SDOJ and that is why they show up so infrequently.

Arg, no pics of the PCB itself.  Also what are those yellow and green sheets for, I've never seen those before, are those from the shop it was purchased?  I don't think they normally go with the kit but I could be wrong.

Why do you want to see pics of the PCB? The yellow and green sheets are from Tops (they include them with all their PCBs - it's just info about packaging/warranty/repair, etc.).

Forum member Kaneda (NTSC-J) got a new WR for Muchi Muchi Pork in the 2-loop Ikuo category. It doesn't beat the top score (264mil), but it's the new WR for a 1CC!

255,912,370

https://twitter.com/julianjalapeno/status/1271753601812066304

This beats the old 2-ALL record of 247,290,850 done by WSM-Tsuiimaru in July 2009.
