PCB / Re: A comparison of CV-1000 (SH3) PCBs with their respective ports

Here is a link showing the input lag of the CAVE ports (It seems the tester may have about 1 frame of lag in this setup):

http://electricunderground.io/shmup-input-lag-database/

It shows AK, DSII, SDOJ, Guwange, MMP and PS all have 4-5 frames of lag. It is unsurprising that they are the same in this regard because they all use the same menu system (well, for AK the connection to the other ports is less obvious). Unfortunately it is clear CAVE had two port-code systems in place and one was really good (Deathsmiles, Mushi, ESP2, DDPDFK, etc), and the other was pretty bad. It's baffling that they didn't just use the good one every time.

Nice!  :righton:

I've been playing DFK BL with B-Strong these days. Trying to finally learn it properly and get a 1CC.

Getting to Stage 7 in PS.

Stage 6 midboss hammered me, so I took a pause from PS for a couple of weeks, now back I hammer him.  :)

Darthmig:

You just have to keep an eye out for the game(s) you want to buy on Yahoo Japan auctions, ebay, forums (here, shmups forum, arcadeotaku and neo-geo forums), and Japanese shops. You can order through Yahoo Japan and Japanese shops by using a proxy, such as From Japan or Buyee/Tenso. FJ is the best IMO.

Tops sells internationally but has high prices. Here is the link to their CAVE inventory (it updates every Wednesday, Japan time):

Here is a helpful link to check daily for the latest PCBs listed on YAJ:

Thanks for the feedback. I have tried it on Firefox and Edge on my PC and Safari on my ipad, and all load fine without issue. So far I'm not sure if it's any faster, but I kept getting server connection errors randomly when I would try and post a message in the old theme, requiring me to go back and reload the page in order to post. I don't know if this new theme will fix that, or if it is some other issue. If it crops up in this theme, I'll have to look for a different cause.

Anyone know about this stuff in more detail? My knowledge is minimal at best.

The new theme is pretty painful on Firefox moble. All sorts of 'responsive' redrawing that jumps elements around and makes pages take longer to load. When it finishes loading it seems to reserve a margin under the avatar so only half to two-thirds of the page shows the actual post.

Tldr, thanks for keeping the old theme also
