Meeting at Cave's HQ 10/30/2010
« on: October 03, 2010, 03:04:18 PM »
Asada says that on Oct 30th they are having a sitdown meeting with some of their fans. You can apply to be invited, if you are in Japan (and speak Japanese). You will get to play DFK 360 and other games. They are doing this because Asada and the programming/development staff want to sit down with fans and hear their opinions about various things.

This is being held at Cave's offices, and will be the second time they hold such a meeting.

No doubt.  Hopefully we'll see iPhone games of their entire back catalog, and iPad variants with improved resolution.

The criteria is for applying is your age, sex, and your "gaming history".  We could very well see only an influx of fuck pillow production as a result of this.

the greatest video game related news I could ever hear is:
"Mushihime-sama 3 is being developed"

I really hope the fans mention this series ^^

Agreed.  Cave does 2D well, and I'd love to see them stick by it.

New blog post:

http://cave-game.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2010/10/post-f015.html

Asada says you'll be able to play Pink&Pork 360 as well as Daifukkatsu 360 at this meeting. Also some arcade games.

I hope someone will get some early impressions of the Pink&Pork port.

I don't know. On the one hand you're right, Cave does do 2D very well, but I don't have any objection to them doing 3D if they hire people with experience. The move to 3D worked pretty well for the Raiden series afterall. I think DS2 has just left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. It doesn't meN they couldn't do something better in the future with a more suitable franchise like DDP.

I agree. DSII wasn't exactly gorgeous or anything, but just think back to Gradius V, Ikaruga, Border Down, Under Defeat, etc. Those games are all many years old and they looked fantastic. It's just a matter of them getting 3D right next time.

Nah, 2D all the way for me. There's something about playing a 3D shooter that, even though in essence it's 2D, it plays... like it's under water... or something. 3D shooters aren't as immediate, they're all a bit floaty... Could be a slight lag or the animation - just a visual quirk.

I have no idea what these things are generally like, but I hope there is support for a 2D vert (with cat-girls) - preferably in an arcade machine.

Info from this source: http://star.ap.teacup.com/kibanist/746.html

Games playable were:

PCB:

Deathsmiles Cave Matsuri Ver (MBL's prototype ver)
Deathsmiles II Ver 4.0
DFK BL
DFK 1.51

XBOX 360
DFK 1.5
DFK 1.5 Arrange L
Muchi Muchi Pork
Muchi Muchi Pork Arrange mode

Something was different with the MMP Arrange mode, but the guy didn't know enough about the game to tell (and no explanation was given by Cave). He also said the slowdown was wonky, but the Cave people told him they hadn't worked on that yet, so he shouldn't worry. Pink Sweets X360 was not playable, it seems they don't have a playable build of that yet.

I didn't realize they had DFK 1.51 on PCB.

Edit:  Yeah I saw the pic in the other thread.  For some reason I thought the Matsuri version that people played was on Xbox.
