Coolest looking new items: DOJ Keychain/Straps
Yikes Moment: Signed Cells (Hi SuperPang!)
Biggest Ordered Item: Akai Katana OST
Surefire item to get you not laid: Ketsui Chip Wallet Chain

There's actually a lot of old gear being offered which is easy for me to get if anyone is interested.  I will be out of town until early November though.  Shooting a porn film on a boat in North Korea.

I would still like to get a MFBL/DSMBL DVD, so if someone can hook me up, let me know. I will copy it to my computer and then sell it on the forums here for $15 less than what I paid, guaranteed.

Damn it, what a time to be tight on cash. I would love the signed Mushi Futari cell. Oh well. 20,000 is well out of my price range.

Correct me if i'm wrong but does this indicate more of the Cave Shooting History books will be available? http://www.cave-shop.jp/fs/caveshop/cvob0004

Those reproductions of original art look really nice - way better than the goofy posters. I especially like the Akai Katana one - I might actually hang that on my wall. Too bad they're so freaking expensive.

Thanks for the heads-up, I think I'll be wanting some of this stuff in a week's time or so. Especially the EVAC and [5] pins. Too bad there isn't a hadou gun pin or something.

Time for discussion.

These Matsuri events always yield something I want, but they tend to be thankfully very few things. Atm all I'm after from the matsuri and Cave store are the history book and an AK artset (future proofing) - both fairly practical things.

But don't you guys find that Cave are pushing so much tat these days? I'm guilty of poster buying, but I couldn't stretch to 20,000 yen for a signed art print! As a small dev I don't blame them for galvanising their resource and finding ways to squeeze money from diehard fans, but sometimes I think it's a bit much.

Coasters?
Tumblers?
Pantsu?

Probably just the way I'm inclined, but I see a lot of it as junk (including those cheap ass overpriced signed prints) and only some of it practical collectibles.
What do you think? I know there's a guy on shmups who is  continually seeking every bit of junk ever seen at a matsuri - he has a long and winding road ahead of him at this rate.  :)

You can't blame them for offering.  People don't have to buy.

And seriously, people will pay $100 and more for a poster.  And from there if you want to display it you're looking at 2.5x that to frame it properly.  Nothing wrong with a 20,000 yen signed print that's ready to hang.

You don't have to pay 2.5x that to frame it in Japan, and only after market posters go for $100 + depending on scarcity. They cost $20 brand new from the event.
That's more the perspective I'm thinking within.

I do agree with you that they need to make money, but some of the offerings are getting very dubious (those prints being case in point - but they're only let down by price, if they were a third of the cost it would make more sense.)

Personally I like Cave merch, but I want to see some really nice stuff coming up. I bought two tees from a matsuri (also practical) but the quality was poor imo.

I guess they've got to go to the effort and expense of getting the likes of HACCAN back over to sign the stuff. Its a bit of harmless fan service and an extra revenue stream, I'm all for it. (Shock!)

Now, off to eat some noodles with my Guwange bowl and chopsticks! *tips Ketsui hat*

I know. I try hard to be a normal 29 year old guy getting on with real life and enjoying my hobby, but ultimately any outsider is going to consider me a total fucking nerd.

Oh well, at least I drink beer and like women.

That print is really nice (along with the Akai Katana one). Also, generally speaking, the allure of anything DOJ-related is hard to resist. So don't feel too bad. :)

I would love to have that on my wall. Be a great, albeit confusing piece of art.

On an unrelated note looks like I've got some more cash coming this Friday than I thought. Anybody want to help a fellow fan with acquiring these two items? My usual guy in Aichi isn't available.

It's a shame I wouldn't get to use those DOJ keychains/straps properly (I might be using an iPhone soon, and with my keys they would probably end up too beaten up/broken sometime later), because they look badass. Really looking forward to the Akai Katana OST and the history book.

The fact you got a hard on for the DOJ print made me laugh a bit today.  I decided I'd like one of these for my office, which is mostly just white undecorated walls.  I pretty well do what I want, but figured I'd go for the wife's approval just to soften the grief later.  The exchange went something like this..

Her:  Do what you want but they are little girls in garters..

Me:  The DOJ one is pretty nice.

Her:  It's a phallus..

Me:  Really?  It's just a crashed space ship.

Her:  LOL

Sucks you've got no room for the history. But whatever. Yeah I'd greatly appreciate it if you could help me with the Mushi book. I'll try finding another means for Cave History. Thanks.

Edit: Does Cave have any kind of restriction on purchases aside from being shipped to a domestic address? I'm wondering if I could register for an account, purchase with my foreign Visa and have it shipped to a JP address.

I haven't had time to look over everything yet but I'd really like one of the BL DVD's as well if anyone is able to accommodate.

Edit: I'd really like the DFK DVD too as I missed out on that one as well.
