Gal Gun [JP X360]
« on: October 27, 2010, 07:49:48 PM »
3D arcade-style gun shooter. Looks kinky and silly and has that special Japanese charm.

so...i take it you don't go for head shots in this game? i'm gonna lol hard if boobs are equivalent of head shots (not that that would be challenging at all) and nipples would be the same as shooting a zombie right between the eyes as far as scoring goes in house of the dead. that would make the game so much more perverted and weird than it already is...making the game skyrocket in sales

had to make an effort not make puns using the words hard and scoring.
real shame we can't region lock the region free tards to the shmups forum region-moaning thread.

Somewhat interested in the game, but not 7,140 yen worth of. I bet it'll get boring quickly.

This looks so rediculous I want it, but the price is somewhat prohibitive. It looks like it should be a kinect game or something & I don't understand why they'd do a game like this that only uses the pad, surely it'd be better for kinect/move/wii.

This is an absolute must buy for me. Not because I suspect it will be any good, but just for the novelty of it.

Demo hitting Xbox Live this Friday:

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/01/19/galgun_demo_and_modes/

I cancelled my preorder last week, too risky to spend $80 on a game like this at release when it could be crap. I'll give the demo a whirl
and see how it is.

I'm more concened about the changes Microsoft apparently requested. I'm buying this solely as a send up of the Japanese stereotype. The more they do to remove that aspect, the less i want it.

I am surprised, GalGun is actually a fun game. Sure it's easy and it would play better with a real light gun, but it's essentially a classic rail shooter with high school girls and some visual novel style elements. Gameplay is split between story scenes where I have no idea what's going on, but you make selections, and shooting scenes. For the shooting scenes the game scrolls along on a rail, ducking in and out from cover as you try to avoid the girls attacks. Occasionally you'll hit them in the right place at the right time for a one shot kill.

Wish i could understand japanese so i knew what the hell was going on in the mini games, but otherwise it's a hoot. Strangely I can't find a way to refine my aim and move the cursor slower aside from zooming in.

Demo thoughts along with a 20 minute video of the first stage. Video may look shite at the moment as Youtube is still processing the 360p, 480p and 720p versions.

I finally tried out the demo and it's not bad. The story is pretty goofy, but in a good way. Really wish I could use a light gun with this game.

Might pick this up when the price drops a bit.

i thought the same thing, with a light gun it would be much more enjoyable, it's a little hard to aim from one point to the other without errors

Makes you wonder why they didn't develop it for the PS3 where GunCons exist.

I haven't opened the game, let alone the box it came in through postage.

Yeah.... no light gun really kills this game from what I've seen in gameplay.

It could have been batshit insane. Like Crisis Zone machine gun insanity.

From watching the video, I kept expecting to see Reco running along on the "now loading" screen. Looks quite familiar, no?
