Wtf, 5 million improvement now? How? I would assume carrying the max bomb bonus through the TLB, but I thought the 70+ million scores already did that...

Is there a listing of the lives/bombs in that Futari BL Original score? Pretty incredible stuff.

moozooh

Man, this issue has got to set the record for the largest amount of insignificant improvement in a month! Look for yourself:

DFK 1.5 Omote:
797,894,759,751 -> 798,828,675,321

Deathsmiles:
642,768,827 -> 643,127,452 (less than 400k)

Ketsui:
499,136,514 -> 499,401,118 (less than 300k)

Deathsmiles II:
1,302,694,944 -> 1,302,776,621 (less than 100k!)

IIRC it's all the same guys anyway, so I'm not even sure why they bother with such amazing updates. :laugh:

But then it's offset with some genuinely amazing scores on the other games, go figure!

Nope. But if this guy is the one who finished stage 4 with 1.83bil (check for Futari BL videos on NICO), I guess that should be a NMNB clear.

New scores from the May issue (just released 2 days ago). I stopped by a bookstore on my way home today and jotted these down:

Ketsui (OMOTE)
504,404,889 - A-type - SPS (No Miss, Bx0)

DOJ
2,085,806,910 - A-type - (didn't have a name, it was just a long sentence in Japanese that ended with something like "thanks to the arcade owner", iirc) - Lx3, Bx0

Futari Black Label (ORIGINAL)
3,855,065,406 - PALM - Darurun

DFK 1.5
C-S (OMOTE): 819,482,135,210 - t2
A-B (URA): 790,345,279,641 - D助

Akai Katana
539,749,170 - Type 3 - AKF (No Miss/No Bomb)

Deathsmiles
647,911,825 - Follet (w/EX) - 太菱
548,154,178 - Rosa (No EX) - 海人

AKF said his Akai Katana score boost came mainly from some new patterns in Stage 4. There were also new scores for Donpachi (58 or 59mil with C type), Bakraid (128mil or something, iirc), Strania, and a few others I didn't write down.

Also note the Omote DFK 1.5 C-S score is now higher than the Ura one!

Awesome. I knew he was gonna do it.

He finished with Lx2, Bx2. If he could no miss it with at least 3 bombs, it would put him over 4bil.

Other stuff about the scores:

-The DOJ guy finished with Lx3, Bx2. 865mil in the first loop. 1.965bil before the last boss fight.
-AKF says he missed a lot of scoring spots in all stages except 2 and 3, so 540+mil will be in his reach when he can pull it all together.
-MYS had a chain break in the 2-1 midboss. Cleared it with Lx5 and Maximum active.
-DFK 1.5 B-S guy finished with Lx3.

cstarflare

He finished the first loop with 90 billion more the SWY's DVD run? Damn.

Does the Omote loop have that much fewer points, or is he just not as good at taking advantage of the 2nd loop? His clear stats seem to indicate that he's got survival down pretty well, at least.

I'm pretty confident that there's significantly less points in Omote; for every stage, the Ura versions (which are of course accessible on the first loop) have (often significantly) more points going around. For example, the stage 3 Ura midboss has the endless amounts of small tanks and stage 5's midboss has the long drop full of popcorns and mid-sized ships following it, both of which will add a lot to your score.

Really crazy scores. I'm amazed how hard people are still pushing DFK. :o

For DOJ WL that's pretty crazy. HFD is a fucking monster.

CIB

crazy to see new scores on donpachi almost every month  :o
I want to see a video   :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

drboom

Yes - someone has to release something. Too many good scores popping up.

TimingTripod40

From what I understand it's pretty much standard practice for top players to keep vids of their runs (if they do exist) under wraps outside of people in their close circle. So don't expect vids of any of these runs unless someone decides to be really nice.

Depends on the player.  However, I have been looking for a decent donpachi video for years and don't expect to ever see one.  To my knowledge no one has ever released a video where the player gets the capacity bonus on 2-3.

The Stage 3 Ura mid-boss can net you over 20 billion from transition to finish with 10,000 hit multiplier.  The highest I've done the Omote has been with 7000 hits and it was hugely different to my usual 2x/3x multiplier, but I don't recall it making as big a difference as the Ura with any of the multipliers.  I've been thinking about the other mid-bosses and also bosses he may have been milking to get that score in the first loop but am starting to think he may have created a 7x multiplier really early, somehow.  Lx5 and Maximum active...  Must have made the most of that hyper spread shot during the last attack is all I can think.  I love how players are still pushing Omote loops and no-EX runs... If you like playing it...  :righton:

Kaneda

SOF-WTN at it again with DonPachi:

84.170.530 - ALL (Lx3) - Type A

Beastly. I wonder what his goal is.

moozooh

What the fuck, that isn't even no-miss? Where does he get all these points...

Way!

Last weekend, I was at the arcade where he set this record and I saw him standing over a friend's shoulder watching the guy suck at DP. Of course he won't play it himself with a number of people around... :whyioughtta:

There's also a new DSMBL score with Windia (14.7bil), but it's still not enough to beat TAC's old score.

New Scores from the August Famitsu (I didn't buy this one, just looked at it in the shop). Someone finally beat TAC's Windia DSMBL score!

Deathsmiles (No Canyon)
551,531,889 - 海人 - Rosa

Deathsmiles Mega Black Label
14,949,177,035 - Shirogoma - Windia

There were also the scores for SDOJ, I posted abbreviated version of them in the SDOJ thread here, but I didn't bother to write them down as they'll all be beaten next month.
