Game is due out September 25th. The cool thing is a bundle back will be released with a special Hori joystick that has a touch screen on it:

The buttons and joystick are all Sanwa. 27,000yen isn't bad for the set, but it'll probably cost over $300+shipping from the import shops.

Alright, I've preordered the joystick bundle from Play-asia. Anyone else getting one? Used a $10 off coupon (just hunt around on the web to find one), so it ended up costing me $380 shipped by Fedex. Not bad.

Anyway I figure I can sell my custom Xbox 360 Hori RAP for $175 or so to recoup some costs. I should be able to use this 4 button Otomedius stick for all the shooters on the X360.

New info from the August issue of Gemaga that some will be happy about: The Xbox 360 original mode no longer has the whole touch screen game play, instead it plays more like Gradius.

Yeah, the touch screen is used for the Arcade game mode. In the arcade you'd actually touch the monitor, but since that's not feasible at home, they came up with this joystick touch screen idea as an alternative means of reproducing the arcade gameplay.

Game did 14,500 according to Famitsu numbers.  Good news for shmups on the 360.

I should have this by morning!

I am look forward to finally give this game a go.  It is with regret that I was unable to get the stick bundle.  So long as the touch screen features are non-essential I will just use my current stick for playing this game.

I got this the other day. Overall it's pretty good. I had fun playing the 2 credits I've played thus far. The graphics are pretty good, music is charming, and the character designs are great. All the menus are really slick, and the options are comprehensive. I haven't figured out how to use the touchpad on my otomedius stick - I'll have to see if that's worthless or fun.

This game reminds me a little of Pink Sweets in two aspects: really character driven, with simple scoring.

I like the character designs and the menus, but scoring in the game is atrociously boring IMO.  No multipliers or anything, just points per enemy killed.  High level play depends on constant use of bombs to kill enemies at once, retrieve the blue power-ups and then bomb again.  Almost Ibara-like.  And dead boring IMO.

Yeah, the scoring sounds similar to Pink Sweets (as I mentioned). Shoot enemies, bomb, pick up items. I rather like this. It's a nice change of pace, and a good game to just chill with, in between sessions with the Cave danmakus.

Well, in any case, I'll see how long it will hold my attention.
