GaijinPunch won't be in Japan for the festival. He'll be at my apartment in Hawaii friday (along with our friend Wanderer) and we'll be playing CAVE games all day with pizzas a plenty.  :righton:

You should play with Kaneda (he's in Japan) and Adverse.

I haven't played DDP DFK very much.  Top score is a measly 1.6 bil but if you're desperate I'll see if I could get the day off work.

Man, you guys suck. I'd love to go, but I think the plane flights from Chicago would be a bit too expensive.
I'm interested to see what's up with the DFK version - it does sound like they botched it and maybe a black label is in the works. It's hard to think that the most revered Cave franchise has this many problems at the moment.

The top team just gets some custom dog tags. Bleh. They will have a lottery (a draw of names from all who participate in the tourney), and give out a PCB. They aren't announcing what that is until friday. I'd participate just to enter the lottery!

Wow, yeah that sounds really cool.  No space in my damn apartment for a cabinet but man it'd be nice to win a PCB.  Going to this event is already trumping watching VF5R at Tougeki at the moment.

Oh and re: dog tags and stuff, it does say 'etc.'!  Could be more?  Something worth giving a fuck about perhaps.

Possible, but it's probably just going to be some random crap lying around that didn't sell.

You don't need a cab to play a PCB, just get a Sigma supergun, hook it up to your TV and you're set!

I'm in for sure. We can just meet up in the morning. What time do you guys plan on going? I'm taking the first train, 5am or so.

Edit: anyone care to explain how they'll be doing the ticket thing? It's supposedly described in detail here, but my Japanese is quite limited.

Wow good thing you pointed that out Zap.

Apparently they start giving out the seiriken at 8 A.M. on Friday.  Yikes yikes.  How am I going to get there anywhere near that early... :-\

Ugh, gonna have to see if I can pull some strings.  Seiriken by the way determine the order you can enter the shop with.  They're limited to one a person so you can't get someone to pick it up for you.

No handycam here, but I'll shoot with my new camera I bought last Monday.

If I manage to get a picture drawn by Joker Jun (you gotta buy the body pillow case), I'm still not sure what to ask for. I'm thinking Shishin (Guwange) together with some fuck-able Death Smiles bitch  >:D

I'm from Tabata, so not that far. Would be great if the tickets have specific numbers, so if you have number 1 you can come back 9:59 and still get in first.

Yeah I live in Osaka so...dunno how early I can actually get there.  My ticket puts me in Akiba at 11:30 but I'm going to see if I can change it to the earliest shinkansen, since there's no point in getting there any time past 10 basically in terms of the 祭り.  I'll probably go directly to the venue whenever I can get there.  My seiriken number is gonna suck though... :(

Oh and Ast-Kot, I'll email you.

Yep, the Yamanote line station. If I finish shopping early, I'll take a cab home to drop off my stuff and come back for talk show and tournament.

I just hope we can find each other, cus I really wanna give the tournament a shot just for fun, and the lottery.

Fun day.  Thanks to Zap for getting there crazy early and picking up those soundtracks/figures I was looking for.

Our team didn't make it past the first round ultimately because we fucked up a little on the first part of level 1.  We lost by 15 hits or so to a team of younger kids.  ;(
Ast-Kot did a great job.

But they were pretty good and wound up taking second place.

In the IKD, Sakai-san and Mihara-san conference, some information was dropped including that we will start seeing screens and info for the Ketsui/DDPDOJBL ports in September and  the game should be out a bit after that (hopefully within the year).  I pulled Sakaisan over and begged him to make the 360 releases region-free and he said that he's doing his best for that and realizes that there are CAVE fans all over the world who want to play the games.

Ketsui DS is pretty fun, and controls well.  I can even hit reaction bombs.  More details on this later.

Zap got really really close to winning the PCB giveaway which was an ESPGaluda 2 board.

Exhausted and getting ready for Tougeki.  Props to Ast-Kot and Zap.  Much more later including pics!

Edit: In addition to the DDP DFK modified boards there was also a modified Muchi Muchi Pork board which featured Pink Sweets bosses after the MMP bosses.

There were also girls in bikinis playing with beach balls.  I am not joking.  The Hawaii theme was through and through with the staff all wearing floral prints and even some flyer with Cave characters in a swimming pool.  Event hall was super nice, with glass walls, a well-thought out set-up and no smoking.  Can't tell you how nice it is to play these games in an environment where you can breathe...

Surprisingly little stuff sold out.  I think they even had fuck pillows at the end of the day.

By the way, winners of the tourney were "Friza and his henchman" aka SWY, ISO and TAC who did really well on the levels they were charged with playing through despite being handicapped with the A type craft.  I think they got something like 25,000 chain on Stage 3 and high 30,000 for Stage 5.

Thanks to averse and ast-kot for the company!

Here's some pics, and 2 vids. Click me

Good luck at Tougeki tomorrow, I'm dead tired and need to rest the whole day. Doubt I'll be making it to Comiket. When I think about it, Sunday is the third day (=porn & otakus), and I don't really wanns walk around there with crutches. I doubt I'll even be able to move. Oh well, there's only one CD I want from there, and take cosplay photos.
