Augh! Just after posting that about DS, I find one on ebay, starting at $400, Buy-it-now for $650 with free shipping. Some fucker sniped me and got it for $425. Sigh... I get the feeling like it was a no-win situation. I hate ebay.

You should have bid like $550 or something.

Should've, would've, could've. I figured if I were outbid, it wouldn't matter at what price I started, somebody would do it. But maybe it's a sign of the times that no one wants a deathsmiles kit and the price is dropping - that and the YAJ auction?

I wouldn't read too much into the Yahoo Japan auction.  There have been kits that started out lower and ended up higher, meanwhile that one just sits there.

What's the going rate for a loose Donpachi board, International or Japanese.  (It's just an EPROM swap, right?)

There's a Galuda 2 on Shmups. The guy is asking $565 USD. Not sure if that is a fair price or not. Its just the PCB.

A bit too much in my onion, as the kit is fairly common. I'd say 400-450 USD are okay.

$400 is REALLY cheap for a Galuda 2 PCB - I'd say $475 - $525 for a PCB.

$565 is high though.

I got a DS kit for 48k JPY + paypal and EMS fees from Fujita - was part of their "X-Mas Sale", its on the way.

At the moment seemed irresistible, but after i add V.A.T. - 24% /sigh and considering the strong yen nowadays...

Thank god in my country - and possibly the whole EU, arcade pcbs are tax free - i mean the tax on top of the VAT.

What you guys think - 48k jpy + taxes was a bit much? I am asking because i saw a full kit priced at about the same, while the bare PCBs were around 30-35k on YAJ.

Speaking of YAJ i saw, and i kid you not, Galuda 2 and Mushi futari 1.5 -> 35-40k and a Ketsui around 60k; about the Ketsui, some were more expensive than 60k w. no bids and there were 4 bids on a pcb in the range of 50K-55k.
I'm aware that the "middle company" used to buy from YAJ has its fees, but those prices were very nice even so from my last search on the matter 1 or 1 and 1/2 yrs ago.

Since i saw this storm of bare PCB's there i think that in the future instead of buying another full kit i'll get 2 of the cheaper boards.

I'm all decided on the Galuda2+Futari or Ketsui as my next purchase; galuda2 + Futari because i read here they are upbeat and Ketsui because it seems to be worth its high price from what i seen - GFX, music and gameplay.

I think the prices listed above for these 3 are nice, but feel free to contradict me if i'm wrong - and maybe help me save a pretty penny, as i won't be buying them too soon.

As intermediary for YAJ you guys use Rinkya?

I'd say between $1000 and $1150.

I don?t disagree with the valuation, but I don?t get why people buy them at this price.

Bare pcb?s regularly don?t sell on YHJ (as in the circle week in, week out) at 40,000 & the artset was re-printed.

I would understand $1000+ for a 1.0 upgraded to 1.5 with the letters & stickers etc, but the prices for this game in the West baffle me.

I have a 1.0 kit and didn?t get any interest at ?500 ($775) & it?s far rarer, though no were near as good.

Oncey the pcb?s drop to 35,000 I?ll pick up another. I?m sure it?s a matter of time.

Well how much were these kits brand new? Do Cave kits typically drop a lot of their value after they have been out for a year or so? I know that Futari BL is still crazy expensive although I'm not sure how much it cost when it was first issued. Then you have Ibara kits that are dirt cheap.

It's all supply and demand.  Below $1000 I would have kept mine.

Was this artset reprinted?  I know BL was, but if 1.5 got done it was a while ago.

Also, I haven't watched YAJ for the PCB.. but maybe it's GFront selling them?  I know that some people won't buy from them so I tend to ignore their items and values.

I just traded off my DFK 1.5 kit. $1000 worth of stuff.plus it sat for awhile at $1000. I think $1000 or less for a DFK 1.5 full kit. I wouldn't pay more than $900 for a FK.

Dunno about Futari, but Deathsmiles has taken a crap - $650 is the most anyone should pay for one right now. It's not an expensive kit.

Galuda 2 fell off the market - wouldn't be surprised to see Galuda 1 eclipse it in price very soon. Upon further inspection and from selling my own kit, I'd say the price of $550 for a FK is good, and $425 for a bare PCB. (I got $500 for my minty kit)

Futari has actually become more in demand AFTER the port was released - I remember people selling Furari 1.5 kits for $950 before the port, $750 after the port and back up to $900+ recently.

DFK kinda trickled down after the port was released and people really got a chance to play it. $1000 or less for a kit right now, and probably less in the near future.

Why did Galuda 2 take such a nosedive? Is it too common or just not as well liked by top players?

All the Cave games, except some rare ones (like DSMBL) take a nosedive in price after their ports. Futari 1.5 included (kits are dirt cheap right now if you know where to look, nowhere near $900).
