I second that question from a month ago :P

Sorta been thinking about upgrading my DS kit to a DSMBL but I don't know how feasible that is.

Deathsmiles isn't hard to come by, but MBL isn't all that frequent.  I haven't seen one trade on the forums in ages, and no clean kits on YAJ either.

I emailed Legend and they said they have new boxed MBL kits but no DeathSmiles vanilla kits. They were asking $1318 USD for MBL kits.

Whats a brand new Espgaluda kit go for these days? It's in mint condition and comes with the original poster and stack of flyers.

What's a DDP Daifukkatsu 1.0 going for these days? Kit or loose, doesn't matter. I just need a rough orientation and would buy either if available.

I haven't seen one sold but I did see a full kit of it on YJ priced at 120000 yen a few weeks ago. I thought the price was outrageous and I don't think anyone bought it.

I'd say $700 or so.

Ibara Black Label is by far the hardest Cave game to find. Fewer boards of it were made than any other Cave game ever and honestly it kicks serious ass. It's a masterpiece and makes the original Ibara look like a work in progress prototype. I bet you could get 1200+ easy. I'd try for more like 1400. Someone sold one cheap on the Shmups forum a few days ago but he obviously didn't know the real value.

Fewer DSMBL and AK were made than Kuro (Cave says only 100 were made, but serial numbers go up over 200, and they were for sale all over the place -- at one point for really cheap -- for quite a few years after it came out).

I really enjoyed playing Kuro when I had it (I've owned it a few times over the years), and I like it better than Ibara, but IMO it's far from a masterpiece. The scoring system is sorta broken and completely restrictive at high level play.

I guess my level of play isn't high for it, I've played my friend's board a lot and never even 1CC'd it. The scoring system seemed perfect and simple and I'm not sure what is broken. I assumed the 100 thing they said was accurate. I don't think the serials go in order or else I might have the first ever Akai Katana board and it's a revision. Anyway I don't think the serials always went in order.

IB- prefixed serials go from 001 to about 271 (that's the highest I've seen). You're right they could have skipped numbers, but it was pretty clear awhile back there were at least two prints of the game, and later "new" kits did not come with the sticker on the box as those were only for the first 100. Some had generic Cave serials, with no IB- prefix and a random string of digits (I had one of these). There was also a bug-fixed revision released. My theory is Cave "officially" only made the 100 with the sticker on the box for Japan, the "unofficial" ones were tossed out through Hong Kong retailers for some extra cash. This might explain why, for a period of time, the game was so cheap from Hong Kong while it retained a high value at Japanese shops at the same time.

A couple years ago people were dumping them in bulk on YAJ for about 50,000 yen, and some didn't even sell at that price. I saw a full mint kit with sticker on the box go for 54,000 yen. Today is quite a different story, as it's harder to find and not close to as cheap. I think a lot of people like the game and with no port, it's one people will tend to hold on to.

Maybe a full kit will fetch $1200.

Surely not a loose board.

I'd try for 1200 anyway. Someone puts one up for 825 and his PM box is probably maxed out in under an hour. Try for 1200 and it might take a couple of weeks to sell. There's literally no other place you can get one right now unless you guys know something I don't.

I have Akai Katana AK-90001. I wonder if it was the first board.

Not the first, but it could be #90,001!  Ibara Kuros have stuff like IB-001, IB-002, IB-124, etc. Up to 271 (or maybe higher). Clearly a different numbering system.

I know quite a few people with the game.

I'm sure I can get an entire kit for less than $1200.

So, maybe I do know something you don't  :-*

You probably could. They could also probably sell one to someone else for more. I have a friend who offered 1400 for one once, full kit with poster, and the seller said someone else had made an offer and stopped replying.

Do you remember who he was trying to get it from?

Thats pretty much a record, since Legend has had one in stock for months at $1100 for a kit.

Yeah, I'll send you a private message about it. I don't want to post it publicly in case it makes the guy look bad for stopping replying or whatever. I don't want some internet brawl over some old deal that died.

By the way, Legend does not have one in stock. They got one in like in February and it sold immediately and then they never updated their site. My friend tried contacting them about it when he was looking. Not in stock.

also, this probably isn't the perfect thread for this, but what should I expect to pay for a Muchi Muchi Pork poster if I can find one? What are the dimensions of them?

I'm not sure what the telephone card is worth, but you should be able to get at least $90 for the LE. Probably another $10-$20 for the card.

hi guys,

With the 360 version of Mushihimesama out now, was thinking of selling my PS2 version (original print).

Any idea on what the PS2 version would be worth nowadays?  I checked ebay, but that wasn't exactly very helpful as most of them were bloated buy-it-now prices :)

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
