Due to COVID-19, unfortunately, I've heard stories of arcades in Japan having to close shop (for good). We are starting to see large lots of CAVE PCBs show up on YAJ due to this, and you can expect more to come. Here is a seller offloading several CAVE kits and PCBs:

https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/seller/kumachan7654321

Most of his prices are on the high side, around TOPS' level, so I'd wait until they fall a bit. 440k for an Ibara kuro with a CAVE box (no sticker) and copied art, for example, is a bit crazy.

That's sad news.

DOJ flyer sold for 10,807 yen:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f422319825

Although a proxy bidder came in second, it looks like a (non-proxy) bidder in Japan won it.

SDOJ POP (used, with slight wear and tear) sold for 14,000 yen at auction. Doesn't look like a proxy bidder bought it.

SDOJ box with original A4 marquee, b/w instructions and blue antistatic baggie:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w391683668

This is a real SDOJ box (not a MFBL AV box), as can be determined by the unique inserts. The marquee shows some sunfade and other wear and tear.

EDIT: ended at 30,500 yen.

Very minty Ibara Kuro kit starting at 400,000 yen:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/o401779194

Box is one of those without the CAVE/AMI stamp (apparently, though rare, these are original) and it comes with a cool, unused Ibara Kuro sticker which is not official (it is listed in the auction as 'homemade').

Woah, is that box legit?  I've never seen one without any print on the top.  Same seller also has a Dangun Feveron available.

Someone in this thread or elsewhere (zak? Superpang?) mentioned they got a new CAVE kit with such a box a decade or more ago, and they complained to CAVE that there was no stamp, who didn't think it was a big deal. Apparently they neglected to stamp a few of the boxes once in awhile.  :whyioughtta:

It’s weird. That seller just relisted DF 20k ¥ more and it looked like it sold a few days ago. It was previously listed at 80k.

The seller, porcupine140, is known to do that if he thinks the auction ended too low (he'll cancel all the bids after the auction, then relist it higher). The guy has an incredible collection of rare and mint kits, which he has been slowly selling off over the last several years. If you can bid up to a decent price, he will sell the item to you, he's just not very easy to deal with. Still, I know people who have successfully bought from him and the items came in pristine condition, looking hardly used.

In other news, here's a nice DFK BL kit (no box) with folded poster starting at 440,000 yen:

I've seen the boxes without the stamp before. I've also seen PCBs without serial stickers on them (from factory). Only seen 2-3 examples though.

The box texture/pattern in that auction looks different though.

Also, that serial number is fairly low. The first 100 Ibara Black Label would have come with the sticker and stamp on them.

Do you think porcupine140 will ever list an Akai Katana Ltd home kit or a Mushihimesama Matsuri?  Probably hold out for 10,000,000yen

I don't understand his selling style. If he thinks it's worth a certain amount, why doesn't he just make that the starting bid?  :whyioughtta:

To his credit, he doesn't claim it is the original box that came with the kit, but he does say it is an official CAVE box.

Suruga-ya have a DFK 1.5 PCB in stock for 188,000 yen:

https://www.suruga-ya.jp/product/detail/180001179

Hard to find one of these for sale in the past 6+ months, outside of Tops. And (unsurprisingly) this price is a lot better than Tops!

Beware, however, that the PCB in the picture is not the one you will receive. It is a photo of the one they sold back in 2018, and they are recycling it as a 'stock' photo (they've done this before, unfortunately).

Was tempted to try my luck on that, but I doubt the serials match  :-[
