The third "Wasshoi" meet will be May 4th at Game in Ebisen:

Top Japanese players SWY, TAC, mYU, and others will show their stuff on Espgaluda 2, DDPDFK1.5, DSMBL, Battle Garegga, and other games.

I'd love to attend to see how mYU can get 1 bil in Espgaluda 2, and how SWY gets near 800bil in DDPDFK1.5. Let's hope they take some video footage, like in the first one!

Ebisen sounds like the best arcade in japan, as far as shooters go  :)

Is it really going to be at Game in Ebisen? Only about 20 people could fit in there comfortably, nevermind looking over a guy's shoulder to see a monitor.

Wanted to check this out today but it sold out...

real shame we can't region lock the region free tards to the shmups forum region-moaning thread.

Looks like some of the video of the event will be on a special DVD packed in with the next issue of Arcadia.  Good shit!

No arcades in Spain.

September.  And I think it's gonna be a pretty abbreviated movie, since there's going to be other stuff on the DVD like Daigo Umehara giving SFIV advice and some VF5 stuff IIRC.  But that's worth the price of admission as well for me so it's all good.

Looks like they're planning another Wasshoi! for August 29th.

Get your tickets early lol...

Sorry to dissapoint, but the Wasshoi DVD in the new Arcadia is edited pretty poorly.  All the vertical recording is in tate mode which means you have to turn your monitor.  The fact that it switches between hori Deathsmiles, and the fact that comments on the play are still in hori while the image is in tate is really frustrating.  Only got to check it out on my lunchbreak though, so can't comment on the play yet.

They did the same in the Sptember/08 Issue  :P

Watched the EspII, DSMBL and Garegga footage.  EspII Shin-Seseri battle was interesting, and so were some of the patterns that the lv. 999 players had created for DS MBL, but overall the editing is just really poor and it's pretty clear that whoever edited it didn't really understand where the interesting parts were to focus on.  Also doesn't help that the announcers are ooing and aahing over everything.  There is one announcer who actually understands the games and gives useful commentary, but after watching the EVO live stream and seeing Seth Killian break down SFIV in the most methodical and informative manner, Wasshoi comes off as frankly inane.

Incidentally, Wasshoi IV has been announced, but it's all Taito games so I don't really care:

Sounds just like the previous Wasshoi DVD. You get to see some neat snippets, but you shouldn't expect a superplay or even any real useable strats (well, I did learn one neat scoring trick in stage 5 of MFBL's God mode in the last DVD, but that's about it).
