Waiting for the trailer to download so I can see this in action.  The screenshots look pretty nice.

Any idea about what you guys would be selling this for when it's out?

From the trailer, the game looks pretty interesting. Be nice to see this get a home port on one of the current consoles.

The visuals remind me of Mars Matrix somehow. I'm digging the psychedelic colors going on but it almost looks a little too busy.

If you live in Japan:

Fast Striker is now on location in the Try Amusement Tower game center in Akihabara!
You can't oversee it, it's directly sitting next to Akai Katana   :righton:

Here is a small video just after installation:

Interesting, that's the first time we hear that  :oogle:

Which kind of boring? Can you elaborate? Did you play Maniac mode?

We really would appreciate constructive critics  :)

First of all I have to say that I never like neo-geo vertical-scroll shumps..I played 6-7 credits on originalimode and I reached the last boss finding out a lot of secrets and boss tech bonus. I pla yed only a few credits on maniac and I think that this the best mode to play IMHO!Inspite of the "homemade"nature of the game it's a good product..It has a good ost and a good graphic style

I played a credit of Original mode and reached the last boss. It feels pretty average in just about every way. Ship doesn't move quite right. Graphics are fine, but all the stages all look a like. Bosses look kind of neat but I hate how crowded it feels when fighting them. Every single thing in the game I've seen done better elsewhere.

As a homemade game by fans, it's fine. But as a full-release and sitting next to the latest Cave offerings, it looked like it would have been better off if it had come out 12 years ago. Akai Katana may not be Cave's best, but it is leagues ahead of this game in terms of presentation and game design.

Edit: I just realized that THE helped develop this game.  :-\ Sorry for my harsh comments! Lots of people will like this game, I'm sure.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I just don't get why you play original mode, it's maniac mode where all the fun comes from...

Here are some information:
http://www.faststriker.com/mode.html

Original was designed for people, that can't reach more than the first three stages in a Cave game...

Overall the difficulty was designed to be even easier than Deathsmiles.

To get the full potential you need to score more than 10-20 billions in Maniac.

We are currently working on a 1.5v with a fourth more danmaku like game mode for MVS.
If you have any suggestions, I would be pleased to hear them.

@Kaneda
>Ship doesn't move quite right.

Could you explain that more?

Lol, no problem. No need to be nice!

Then why include it? You say it's for people that have a hard time with shooters, but I saw a novice or training mode also selectable. If Original sucks that bad, feel free to leave it out. I chose it because it was the default mode which I assumed meant it was the "intended" mode of the game. The original modes in the Mushi games are all easier in difficulty compared to the other modes available, but it doesn't mean they were short-changed in terms of game design (the case could be made for the first Mushi but Futari 1.5 and BL are both very solid).

Regarding the ship movement, I don't know how else to describe it. It felt just a little off. I guess it was hard to judge the hit box so I wasn't confident when dodging through patterns.

Original doesn't suck bad, it's fun for people that like more old school games. 80% of our customers are like that. I have to admit, it isn't fitting for arcade though. But currently arcade is just a "hobby" of us. The money is made with consumer sales.

Anyway, in the update we made Maniac default.

Wow, that fourth mode sounds very interesting. Please don't call it "Black Label".
