Cave's new line of games
« on: May 01, 2010, 03:18:30 PM »
Asada posted today on the Cave blog (http://cave-game.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/) that around May 6th they will post info about their "completely new line of games" on the Cave homepage. This refers to a new direction of game development for them, not ports of any old games. Should be pretty neat to see what they've been up to in this regard.

as long as they're still making shooters...although i wouldn't mind seeing them try their hands at a fighting game
real shame we can't region lock the region free tards to the shmups forum region-moaning thread.

fingers crossed it either makes them money or this new line of games will subsadise the development costs of shmups.

Actually the post said they met last weekend and discussed possible names for their new arcade game. It's not a sequel, so they've been picky about choosing the "right" name. They say they will be able to discuss the game this summer, hopefully.

This does indicate it's a shmup though, right?

I wonder if there was any truth to that CAVE Vs. Capcom thing mentioned at Kotaku a while back?

I have to think it will be another hori game.  Cave seems to have so much focus on the Xbox platform, and the horis seem to sell really well there.

I wonder what platform it will be developed for?

I wonder if it's too optimistic/unrealistic to expect a 2D...

It would be suicidal to not do something 2-D.

New Cave blog post by Asada:

http://cave-game.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2010/05/post-b716.html

He says they're stopping by Famitsu 360's editorial department tomorrow night to talk about their latest plans. He can't tell us what he will tell them, but he says we should look forward to it.
