If you give me the links to an off-site picture hosting, I can edit the main post with links to photos of various people's kits.

Or, you can just post the pics here.

Was going through my flyers yesterday and only found a one-sided paper Pink Sweets flyer, I could've sworn there was a thicker one too, or was there?

Does anyone know how thin / thick the ?Manual A4 B/W? for Pink Sweets should be?

I have one, but it?s really thin in comparison to some of the others I have. I know it didn?t get a sticker backed Move Strip, & was wondering if it got cheap ass paper manual too?

Might be worth mentioning the signed DFK also included the flashing pendant and a DVD of the AOU dance.
Also, from memory, the Esprade and Guwange dipsheets are blue and white, DP/DDP are grey/black.

Confirmed :D. Just to be 100% crystal clear the DP/DDP are actually white/grey/black

What is this flashing pendant ?

And does anyone have a rip of the dance they would share with us ?

Just a quick question with regards to a DDP DOJ kit. I have a kit with everything except the manual sheet, and an old style box that was non-specific (just picked it up somewhere.) Does a DOJ kit have differently sized cardboard inserts to other kits, because it seems like the blue case is fractionally too large to fit?

Thanks for the help!  :righton:

I think the AMI boxes are actually modelled on the DOJ cage, turn it upside down ;)

Question about the Futari 1.5 kits..

Did all the 1.5 kits come with the two little 1.5 stickers?

Also, I don't see a "mini POP" in that photo above.
Title: Re: Cave kits thread
Post by: EOJ on November 19, 2009, 08:01:27 PM
Yes, all brand new kits came with the two stickers and the minipop.

The minipop is in the picture. It's above the 2 stickers.

Thanks, for some reason I was picturing something more artsy for the mini-pop.

Darn, the full kit I bought isn't a full kit.   :whyioughtta:

Anyone have any extra stickers or mini pops?

Muchi Muchi Pork!

- PCB (wrapped in a blue baggie w/ pink bubblewrap)
- PCB Feet
- Manual A4 (monochrome copy)
- Instruction Sheet A4
- Instruction Strip (sticker)
- POP
- Piggy Mascott
- CD
- *A4 Promo Flyer
- *Poster
- Box (new style)

Shouldn't the Piggy Mascott and CD be marked as optional?  These were given out at AOU and to resellers for free, who then included them in some, but not all of their new kits, since they ran out of quickly.
Title: Re: Cave kits thread
Post by: EOJ on January 06, 2010, 06:28:36 PM
They were included in all new kits from AMI, as far as I can tell. Even the very last batch that Fujita sold in spring 2009. I bought multiple new kits from different vendors (Tops, Fujita, Excellent) from 2007-2009, and every single kit had both the CD and piggy mascot inside the box. Not all of the brand new kits came with the poster or promo flier, however, which is why I consider those optional.

With that said, you can consider them optional if you like. They're nothing special really.

I thought the kit you bought last December did not have the piggy inside (http://www.cave-stg.com/forum/index.php?topic=452.msg8912#msg8912), but nice of them to rectify the situation afterwards for one of their top customers!  =D
Title: Re: Cave kits thread

Nah, they just forgot to send it. Which they later did (for free). The other two people I know who bought a kit from them at that time got the piggie keychain too.

Case in point: Fujita once "forgot" to send me the BOX for a brand new kit (Espgaluda II).   Which, of course they also sent (for free) right after I notified them. Apparently some of the dudes in their shipping department aren't too swift.

For the sake of simplicity, I will mark the piggie keychain as "optional" with a question mark, as no one really knows. The fact they have been included with other kits (IKBL), as brentsg pointed out, further adds to the fishiness of the situation.

I wonder if all the outputs are enabled, or it's just a byproduct of the motherboard they used.

If a joystick mech could be rigged up and HDMI used, it would be fun to waste money on.  I wonder if it could be easily updated to the latest code?

I bought this Guwange marquee, and it came with a free instruction strip.  The marquee is original, but the strip looks printed.  I've never seen a strip for Guwange as part of any kit, so am curious if anyone knows if there was such a thing?  Despite the laser printer quality of the copy, it does look like a legit instruction strip.

Yeah, no strip, but that looks cool Dave. Any chance of a nice scan for us exclusive CSTG members?  :righton:

I could try to scan it, but I'm afraid its pretty poor quality print.  I'm more curious where it came from as it doesn't look like a homemade job.  Perhaps its something from a magazine article, or some kind of loc test art?

Can the DS2 pcb works without a jamma?

Its not Jamma, but JVS.  You need a JVS IO or Converter to play it, similar to Naomi or Type X mobo.

I uploaded a 300dpi scan here (http://rapidshare.com/files/425713262/GuwangeStrip.png), but be warned, its pretty poor quality, being a scan of a print that was laminated and then folded in the middle. :P  If anyone has a clue as to where this might have come from, I'm all ears.

In the Akai Katana Onlineshop Limited ver. there is a strange textile bag with pockets on 2 sides. It's got exactly PCB-size but the PCB doesn't fit because the pockets are too narrow. Anyone got an idea what this is supposed to do?

It just houses the volume pot sword. Seems a bit big but I'm guessing it was the closest size available.

The flyer pack has 50 flyers in it.. counted them.

Also, on the bottom of the flyer pack was this letter.  I have no idea what it says.

I found a pic of the inside of a SDOJ box (first posted on Cave's now defunct blog site in April 2012):

I noticed there is a cutaway in the box insert to hold the PCB feet (that is actually really cool). Was SDOJ the first game to have this? I have a Cave/Annex box with my MFBLA kit, and it does not have this cutaway in the insert.

Am I correct in saying that the Reco figure that comes with the limited edition PS2 game is the same as the one in the Mushihime-Tama kit?  They look identical to me, can anyone confirm that they are the same?

Also, there appears to be 2 different versions of the Deathsmiles skeleton thing...I know it sounds crazy but they look slightly different.  One has black lines filled in on the body and the other doesn't, there is also a different pull tab thing on the top of it's head.

FWIW I bought a few brand new DS kits back in the day, and none of them came with that skeleton thing. So if you want it just to have it, cool, but I wouldn't consider it part of the kit.

I think perhaps theres a DS skeleton and one for the pirate game then. It wasn't an official part of the kit, they were handed out at AOU/JAMMA. Leftovers may have been added to kits by certain suppliers.
