I'll admit, the reason I didn't do the STGT this year was because I was sure that GB2 would get picked and it was too crushing to think that Sik would maul this game in an afternoon before I had the chance to be the first white guy to beat it, so it was with this deadline in mind that I sat down and finally saw it through.
...But then it was never picked. Ah well. It got me off my ass.

But it wouldn't have happened anyway. Sik didn't 2-ALL Strikers 45 II during STGT '08 and GB2 is even more difficult.

Thanks, Plasmo. Your original congrats to me in the shmups.com thread is worth framing and is something I'll return to in moments when I'm feeling down or in a slump.
But yea, I thought that with the rather strong competition this year, sikraiken would actually try when playing this one and would beat it. If I could do it, he could surely clear it in no time, and with a better score.
I feel kind of embarrassed still by my score and plan on returning to it sometime soon.
