DDP DOJ Black Label New Version

Recently a new version of DDP DOJ Black Label was found and added to MAME.

Is anyone aware of any special matsuri or competition versions for DDP DOJ Black Label ?

The new set dumped has different protection bytes in NVRAM compared to existing dumps.

i would be interesting to determine what the new changes are.

This one has a MASTER VER date of 2002.10.07.Black Ver

The same as the original. So, maybe a bug-fixed version?

I can't recall ever hearing about a special version of this game at a Matsuri or the like.

I think there are at least 2 versions of arcade DOJBL out there. I've noticed this because some BL PCB footages have HUD shake on boss destruction and some don't for some reasons. I made a post about this some time ago. Could this new dump be related to this?

Worth checking I guess? I don't have the new rom so can't do it myself

With this version there will be 3 versions

As noted the date and number of "dots" remain the same however there is one fundamental change in that the protection bytes in NVRAM are modified. This means that the earlier ROMs will not work on this PCB. It also means that this ROM will not work on any of the other DDP DOJ BL PCBs.

I find this very strange.
