So Asada-san has created an opportunity for fans to give feedback to CAVE on August 29th.

He just posted up at the blog that the following altered games will be available to play there:

「Guwange Blue version」

「Dodonpachi Blue version」

「Ketsui Blue version」

Anybody know what these are?  Shame they weren't at the matsuri.

EOJ

Weren't those at a previous Matsuri? I remember the Ketsui and Guwange ones at least. Just some slight differences in each game.

Unless it's a new tweaked version, the Ketsui blue version could refer to the tweaked one that was at the fall 2007 Cave festival.  I hadn't started playing Ketsui much at the time and didn't pay much attention, but I thought it was something like second-loop difficulty, only it was one loop long, enemies dropped chips, and you automatically fought Doom at the end.  I think maybe the ship colors and firing styles were swapped as well.  I know they also had the tweaked MMP where you fought the Pink Sweets bosses there, and something makes me want to think that maybe they had the tweaked Guwange as well, though I can't remember what its gimmick was (or if my "memory" is really just from reading what someone else wrote about it at a different time).   Maybe the New Year's festival of that same year?  Did they even have games there?

In any case, GaijinPunch has a writeup where he mentions said Ketsui variant.  That'd be pretty cool to have a chance to take a stab at the infamous Dodonpachi Campaign edition, though.  Maybe that can be part of the feedback, ask to have them put it up on XBLA or something.

Foer the love of all that is holy (and much of what isn't), can someone get good footage of this stuff? I imagine they will have some gnarly security, but footage is imperative.

It's a prototype of DOJ's scoring system and difficulty pasted over DDP. Its TLB has undodgeable (quite literally) attacks.

I actually thought you would know. ???
<dan76> As it is I'll have to endure high res - life's hard.

Kaneda

Well the game is usually referred to as DDP Campaign Version, not Blue Version, so we're speculating that it may be something different. I'm assuming it's just the Campaign Version.

Wow, there's a lot of stuff in there. Interesting that Cave admits that MBL's slowdown isn't accurate.: they said they just didn't have enough time to get the slowdown just right. We can probably expect similar treatments for Futari 1.01, and Futari BL (if the latter does materialize).  :(

I'd rather they spent the time getting MBL's slowdown right (and release it as a free patch) instead of spending time making MBL 1.1, but whatever.

Maybe they've learned from MBL and take their time with those, or at least with MFBL? Wishful thinking.

I think that statement pretty much confirms they're quite serious about replicating slowdown properly for these current era ports.

EOJ

Disc-based ports, yes. DLC, no. Sorry, I see no indication from them that they're going to spend as much time on the DLC as they do on the ports on the discs. If they did, they might as well just sell the DLC as disc-based releases for full price too. DLC stuff is fast and dirty, and easy extra money for them.

Tons more impressions:

Apparently Ikeda built ver 1.1 for Deathsmiles in 2 weeks.

Blue Ketsui = the sports version (?) according to Ikeda.  No details on Blue Guwange.

Apparently this is a picture of a maniac overseas fan: http://blogimg.goo.ne.jp/user_image/39/56/8b57adff316df43d8373c6c937917e3e.jpg

Anybody know this man?

Don't have time to type it all up, maybe EOJ will see some interesting highlights.

There's a vid there you can download, sort of hidden (but you can find it if you look carefully). It's a full run in Arrange mode (Maniac mode). Looks fun.
