What follows below are all of the current World Record scores for Cave's arcade shooting games. Most scores are from Arcadia magazine and were done on the original arcade versions. 1CC scores are listed first, and if there is a higher non-1CC score it is placed in brackets after. Higher scores done on home ports are included in addition to, but not in place of, PCB scores, and are listed in parentheses after. If you have any newer scores to submit, please do so in the forum thread. Many thanks to forum member Plasmo for keeping track of the scores prior to this thread. Also thanks to forum members marus, adversity, x91 and Kaneda for posting updates on Arcadia's scores.

Not making a backup is a criminal offense by itself, but you should've let Google or Archive.org robot crawl the page to have it cached. ;)

I agree though, amazing update. I was thinking of a possibility of a 7 billion God score just a few hours ago, and here goes the confirmation. Maybe I should think about a video being released too? :)

If he can start doing crazy shit like no miss/no bombing the entire game NAK could definitely score higher than 7 billion. I'm pretty sure Reco has a little more scoring potential as point blanking drives her counter up much faster due to the options. It's just that finishing with 5 lives/6 bombs adds like 700 million to your score.

A few questions for anyone who knows:
I have the following score for DDPDOJ on the site:
2,132,053,220 - Techi ? Type A-E
It was posted on Plasmo's list. However, HFD's Type A score you post above is below this. Was Techi's score done on the PS2 port? Is it somehow not legit?
Actually I was curious about that as well. In the side notes it (I believe - my Japanese isn't that great admittedly) says that he employs some new patterns in 1-4 and 2-5 that give him a 30 million boost in score, but also drops his chain once in 1-4 which cost him a potential 90 million. But even with the extra 90mil that would still put him pretty far below Techi's 2.1 billion score.
Maybe Techi's score was tool-assisted? I have a vague memory of hearing about that, but I'm not sure if it's this score or another one.
Anyway, I still need to find out if Techi's was done on the PS2 port. If so, I will list HFD's score, with Techi's in parentheses next to it.
Techis' score was from dai ou jou PS2 port (internet ranking http://wig.cave.co.jp/ranking/default.php now down)

Well in the writeup, they mention that for all of t2's Omote runs his score improvements come from the 2-3 midboss (I think that's what it says anyways - I didn't really understand that part well). It also says he uses the hyper in parts of 2-5 to play it safe, so there's still room for further improvement.
It didn't mention anything about Yusemi's Ura run though, so no clue on that ???
I've always had the feeling that most DFK Omote records weren't very optimized. There shouldn't be that much difference in score potential with Bomb/Strong ships compared to the Ura loop. With the Strong ships, the difference is now 50 billion or less with all ships which sounds more like it, but the Bomb records lag far behind and I can't think of any reason why would the difference need to be that big.
With Power the difference is understandable, since the hyper rank rules in Ura allow them to do some really crazy hit milking tricks right in the start.

Does the Omote loop have that much fewer points, or is he just not as good at taking advantage of the 2nd loop? His clear stats seem to indicate that he's got survival down pretty well, at least.
I'm pretty confident that there's significantly less points in Omote; for every stage, the Ura versions (which are of course accessible on the first loop) have (often significantly) more points going around. For example, the stage 3 Ura midboss has the endless amounts of small tanks and stage 5's midboss has the long drop full of popcorns and mid-sized ships following it, both of which will add a lot to your score.
Really crazy scores. I'm amazed how hard people are still pushing DFK. :o

From what I understand it's pretty much standard practice for top players to keep vids of their runs (if they do exist) under wraps outside of people in their close circle. So don't expect vids of any of these runs unless someone decides to be really nice.

Depends on the player. However, I have been looking for a decent donpachi video for years and don't expect to ever see one. To my knowledge no one has ever released a video where the player gets the capacity bonus on 2-3.

The Stage 3 Ura mid-boss can net you over 20 billion from transition to finish with 10,000 hit multiplier. The highest I've done the Omote has been with 7000 hits and it was hugely different to my usual 2x/3x multiplier, but I don't recall it making as big a difference as the Ura with any of the multipliers. I've been thinking about the other mid-bosses and also bosses he may have been milking to get that score in the first loop but am starting to think he may have created a 7x multiplier really early, somehow. Lx5 and Maximum active... Must have made the most of that hyper spread shot during the last attack is all I can think. I love how players are still pushing Omote loops and no-EX runs... If you like playing it... :righton:

I do not understand why you expect higher scores than are listed here when you link to a video that is less than the WR. That video is with Type 3 (and done on the PCB), and is 36 mil less than the WR by AKF. The best score I've seen on the X360 version with Type 3 is 525mil, which is PHA's run on the official Superplay DVD (you can watch it here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZaIkZ9o9Hc)). It is hard to find good scoring runs with Types 1 or 2; the top scores on the X360 leaderboards with these ships are quite a bit lower than the best scores done on the PCB.

From what I understand the Nesica version of Shin is a bit different, so the scores aren't comparable IMO. I would like to add all of the port arrange mode scores some time, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Well the differences in this case are in the game system, not in something like slowdown accuracy.
I had a list of the differences but can't seem to find them now. I'll have to search a bit.
However, in general I do not think scores on ports should be compared on the exact same level as the PCBs, except in some special cases. Ditto for MAME scores. That is why I list my own scores done on the PCBs and ports separately in my high score thread.

Late, but I don't really think the DFK BL port scores are comparable to PCB at that level. I talked about DVL's scores with chrono before and he said that the port fixes the bug on PCB where the player's ship disappears when too much stuff is on-screen, which allows for riskier strats than what can be done on PCB.
The sprite disappearance glitch is very common for strong style but for bomb style it rarely occurs and thus is not much of an issue. The port also has less slowdown in some key areas, making it a bit harder in those spots, so it is a tradeoff. Generally, however, I do not consider port scores to be truly comparable with the PCB scores.

With Follett, SPE has demonstrated that the best scores are achieved by playing the last two stages in normal scoring (power up mode), rather than by just staying out of power up and absorbing all the suicide bullets. Though it seems with Windia, in contrast, both methods of scoring lead to very similar results: SPE estimates that optimally he could get around 630 million with both scoring routes.

However, it's not a clear, so it doesn't replace DGN's record, but I'll put it up on the scoreboard anyway.
The top score on the May 2006 rev of Pink Sweets installed at Wai Wai Arcade is now 17.9 mil (up to stage 6, with Lace). This version of the PCB does not have the infinite lives trick, so it is comparable to the X360 port, where the highest score is less than 16mil. It will be interesting to see how much higher they will be able to go, but already I'm very impressed!

Fufufu got the counterstop in Futari Ultra with Abnormal Reco, an incredible accomplishment! It is not a 1CC, so he says he will keep playing until he gets a 1CC counterstop. This is on the X360 port, which is a bit easier than the PCB. I hope he will try to accomplish the same thing on the PCB! Remember, he was the first person in the world to do the counterstop (with 1CC) on the PCB with Normal Reco, way back in 2009.
