Absolute neophyte. Where can I find these games?

Ahh the wonders of the internet.  After watching a YouTube video of some Cave games, I managed to spend the entire afternoon absorbed in all these Cave shooters.  What a fascinating gaming subculture.

My question involves where to find these.  Are any of the games available on PS3 or the Playstation Network?  My 360 red-ringed last year and I never looked back. 

ANyways, any assistance is greatly appreciated.  What a unique find!

A Japanese 360 is worth owning for the CAVE titles alone. Unless your are some sort of tech elitist that consider hating Microsoft more fun than playing awesome games.

It is an Infinite Jest reference!  In all my years of forum-ing, no one has ever caught it!  I am creepily obsessed with IJ and DFW.  What about yourself?

Nothing on the Wii. There's Ketsui Death Label (it's boss-rush only) for NDS, though.

You could always get started with older titles like Progear no Arashi or DoDonPachi, they're available for MAME.

Ave, thanks for the wonderful list!  Am seriously considering a Japanese 360 now. 

I also noticed those two titles available on the PSN (found them on the wiki!), but I can't seem to find them anywhere on the actual PSN itself.  Do you know if they're only available on the Japanese PSN or something?

Also, why do you think bullet hell games have a much stronger cultural pull in Japan over the US?  Why do you all like them? (Just curiosity! They look completely fucking awesome!)

They are completely fucking awesome!  You can enjoy them on so many levels;

• They are stunning to look at, they are fun to play immediately
• CAVE have a winning concept with their basic gameplay control mechanics, A=focus shot, B=bomb, C=full auto
• If you have put ANY time into a previous effort, you can play a brand new CAVE release and get into it pretty damn fast without worrying about scoring
• If you're a hardcore fan, you'll know how the scoring works already as you've probably read up on it here or some other shmup forum
• You will rarely feel underwhelmed, but if you do, just learn to score better

All of the Japanese Xbox 360 shmups are awesome(except for Deathsmiles II IMHO).

DoDonPachi DOJ has horrible load times, although they're supposed to have a patch out for it. Whether we actually see it or not remains to be seen.

Make sure you get a better pad(Hori EX Pad) or a stick for them, since that 360 pad sucks.

If you don't have the scratch, a U.S. 360 will play 3 of them, and they're all awesome. But you'll be missing out on Ketsui, and DOJ. And Ketusi in particular is awesome.
