I discovered one of the chips is different on the CV1000-D PCB board (the one without the lithium battery) used for Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu and Death Smiles Mega Black Label. Here is a pic of my DSMBL PCB:

Unlike the previous SH3 board (CV1000-B), there is a different ISSI SDRAM chip at the location U1.

Here are the product specs:
http://www.issi.com/pdf/42S32400D.pdfIt's a 128Mbit SDRAM chip running at 166mhz. The old chip, used on all SH3 PCBs prior to DDPDFK, is the MT48LC2M32, which is a 64Mbit SDRAM chip.
So the CV1000-D PCB board has double the RAM in this area, and can be considered an upgraded version of the hardware,
perhaps to be labelled SH3-b.
Update: Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu Black Label, Akai Katana, and Dododnpachi Saidaioujou also use this hardware.
