Some interesting remakes of old games have been coming out recently. I bought Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven (PS5) last month and played that a few hours (quite good, but hasn't hooked me yet), but I'm currently focused on the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (PS5) released yesterday, which is really great so far. I also played through the Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition (PS4) last week as I had never beat that game. A short, but fun, almost cinematic experience, and worth going through once in your life.

Of course they are.
Do you have duplicates or is that signed DFK BL in one? (I'd like that too but I dread to think what it's worth.)

DFK BL is in the original Annex box, where it belongs ;)

I bought the Blizzard Arcade Collection on PS5 this week (since it was on sale for $9.99) and played through Blackthorne (SNES). What a cool game! I somehow missed out on this one back in the day. Really nice graphics, Metroid-esque exploration, and an innovative "cover" system while in gun battles. I really enjoyed it -- it's a decent challenge and it only takes a few hours to get through. The 32X version is in here too, and I might play through that one for the extra Snow level, but I prefer the graphics in the SNES version.

Bravo, Z!

There's very little I'd splash the cash on CAVE wise these days, but if you ever decide to let the Ichimura box go, hit me up please. Would be ace to complete the set.

I finished Echoes of Wisdom the other day. Not sure how long it took me, but somewhere between 15-20 hours. I enjoyed the echo system and the puzzles. The game got progressively easier as I went through, and the last boss was a walk in the park. So, it's sort of disappointing in that regard. Still a fun game, but it felt too short and a bit "unfinished" in the second half. Maybe they rushed this one out the door? I give it a 7/10 overall. I think it would have been more fun and challenging if they did not have the smoothie system, or limited you to keeping one in stock instead of 20 (you can have up to four fairies in stock, after all). Even so, I didn't have to use a single smoothie, potion, or fairy on the last boss.

I've been playing a lot of Dracula X on the SNES (PS4/Switch port by M2) this month, trying to 1CC it. So far I can get to Stage 6 on one credit. I love the challenge and length of this game, feels like a proper arcade game as you can beat it in about 35min. The different routes are fun too, and the graphics and music are wonderful. I really like the challenging Dracula fight as well. I know I'm in the minority on this, but this is my favorite Castlevania game ever. (Super Castlevania IV is in second place for me). SOTN is really good too, but, like the DS games, that's a "one and done" game for me, whereas I get a lot of replay value out of the shorter, traditional 'vanias. I do have Rondo of Blood as well and have played that a bit, but I honestly really prefer Dracula X on the SNES.

In other news, I got Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on the Switch and have been playing that over the weekend. Wasn't sure I would like it, and it was iffy at first, but once you get the hang of the echo system it's really quite an enjoyable puzzle/adventure game. I've beaten the first four dungeons so I guess I'm nearing the halfway point? Framerate is unlocked and choppy, like the Link's Awakening remake. Doesn't bother me that much, but if you're after a smooth 60fps experience you might want to wait to play it on the Switch 2.
