When the hell did Mushi PS2 get so expensive??

So after seeing EOJ's Mushi Futari BL auction on eBay, I thought I'd just do a general search and see if any other boards or kits happened to be listed, and I couldn't believe the prices I saw for the PS2 port of Mushihimesama.  $120 seemed to be the lowest price, with some creeping up to the $170 range and higher for the LE, and it made no difference whether the title was the original print or the Taito Best.  Is that the current market value, or has eBay somehow gotten even more retarded since I last browsed for anything in depth?  DDP DOJ and seem to be keeping their usual $60-80 range, aside from a few crazy outliers.  It's just funny to see something you own suddenly take a jump in price towards the 'rare' end of console games.

I hope you know that market value doesn't equal BIN auctions...

But still, the game is worth much more than DOJ and Galuda.

EOJ

Simple answer: Mushi is out of print (and has been for a few years now). Galuda and DDPDOJ are still in print.

And the LE has been out of print for even longer.

Great arrange mode.

Ibara is in the same situation except worse. Rarely will you see anybody on ebay put it up for less than 150, and even the actual auctions seem to go up pretty close to that. I grabbed mine like a little less than a year ago for about 90 bucks. Same for Mushi. Pretty steep price increases, if you ask me.

Especially considering how much everybody bitches about the quality of the ports, yeah.

Didn't realize that the Arika titles were still in print, though.  I thought that with Ketsui DS's rising price and decreasing availability that it was certainly limited, and just assumed that the PS2 titles were as well, although with much higher print runs.

Ibara is ridiculous. The price just shot up and kept rising all of a sudden. It's jumped by about 50 dollars in the last six months, and the port is pretty broken - it's just a painfully hard game made near impossibly difficult.
Still, arrange mode is once again very nice, and if you stick with that you'll get your moneys worth out of it.
