Here is program revision 3 of KETSUI.

I do not know what the difference between this and revision 2 is.

Please post your findings in this thread.

Interesting. Is this a common revision "in the wild"? How can you tell which one is installed, two dots after the date?

Perhaps it's just stricter encryption? Some posts in this thread suggests so: http://neosource.1emu.net/forums/index.php?topic=1157.135

I had a Ketsui PCB with the double dots before. Didn't seem any different from R2 with the single dot. Music glitch still occurred in Stage 5.

Including EOJ's PCB I know of 3 boards with this version. The way to determine the revision is based on the
number of dots on the region screen. I don't think CAVE would release a new EPROM just to tighten the
encryption, after all people could use the older versions...

Seems similar to the Mushihimesama revisions, where there's no clear difference between the one dot and two dot revisions.

I just happened to be playing some and realised mine has the v3 rom (both dots on screen), looks like a factory rom with sticker but I guess someone could have printed it. mmh.

Interesting. I've just been reading on shmups about the DOJ revision.

I'm going to burn one of each and have a look. Thanks for the info.

Kern, I'll pick up a few 27C160s in then new year and burn one for you. :)

I have it already! It was already on my board ;) (both dots).

Thanks for the offer though !

Yeah -- seems not amazingly rare.  For the record, the one board I had until a few weeks ago was the one I first bought AGES ago.  Probably in 2001... before the game really came out.  Well, not that long, but...
