I've returned to DFK 1.5 (X360 ver) and I've been having a lot of fun. I got a new high score in the Omote loop today:

222,539,763,723 - C-Strong - Omote 2-ALL (Lx1, Bx4)



208mil at the end of first loop. Messed up 1-4 pretty bad with a chain break before the midboss but did a full chain in 1-5. Still getting close to nothing in the loop. I guess more practice is needed!

No new scores from me yet, but I have started playing SDOJ, DFK BL (C-Strong), and DFK 1.5 (C-Power, C-Strong) on my Switch, using the pro controller. And I might try and improve on my scores in these games. Might go back to Akai Katana on PS4 as well.

So far I have been learning new patterns in DFK BL, and I've gotten a 10.8bil 1CC with A-Shot in SDOJ.

I've been practicing stage 5 the past couple days and can get 175bil on it about 50% of the time with my current pattern. In this run I did a "panic" hyper on the last midboss, right before the final rush, costing me 40-50bil. Ended Loop 1 with 252bil. Messed up ST3 and only got about 20bil there. I could get about 350bil in Loop 1 if I do every stage perfectly (with my current strats), but odds of that happening are quite low since I always seem to mess up at least one stage per run, so I'll be happy to just get over 300bil.

I've been practicing stage 5 and all the stages in the Omote loop this week, and it paid off today! I met my goal of 300bil and nearly made it to 400bil.

Ended loop 1 with 288bil, and did a complete chain of 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 and 2-4. Messed up 2-5 in several spots, getting very few points there.

I started playing Pulstar about a week ago, and I'm really loving it. Easily my favorite STG on the Neogeo (I also really like Last Resort). Trying to get the 1CC. So far I have gotten up to the end of the last stage:

Pretty brutal when you lose a life in this game. In some stages I can recover, but in this run I couldn't recover at the end of ST8.

I also cleared the first loop in Last Resort for the first time today, and got up to 2-2. My name turned up empty because I didn't enter the letters fast enough. Oh well.

My adventures in Neo-Geo STGs continue, this time with a 1CC in Blazing Star, which took me about a week of practice.

I played with low to medium rank (collected all blue medals I could, but avoided powerups and all lucky panels). I still haven't figured out how to pull off that scoring trick on the ST6 boss where you get 6.4mil (the floating rainbow angel never spawns at the right spot for me), so if I manage that my score could be about 27-28mil with my current patterns. Not sure if I'll keep playing though. It's a pretty good game, but I'm not a big fan of the scoring system.

OK, I figured out how to get that x128 multiplier on the ST6 boss for an extra 6.4mil, and I pulled it off in a 1CC.

Still playing at fairly low rank. I think I'd need to change to high-rank tactics to score substantially more than this. I might fiddle around with that and see if it grabs my interest. Otherwise, it's on to other games.

I started playing Zed Blade (Operation Ragnarok) a few days ago. Here's my best score so far:

3,443,100 - Stage 7 - Uncle Beard (Wave/A-S/Wave) - Autofire ON - ACA NEOGEO (Xbox Series X)



I got up to the final stage in a previous credit but my score was slightly lower. Pretty difficult game from Stage 5 onward due to the fast bullet speed, things coming at you from all angles, and a hit box the size of a Buick. Not sure I'll be able to 1CC this one unless I practice the later stages a lot. Overall it's a pretty fun game that sort of feels like a horizontal Pink Sweets without the medaling.
